About the Blog

   Ever since I became addicted to reading,( Thank you Twilight Saga) I've wanted to be a writer. But, I never really knew how to start. So when my mom suggested that I start a blog to get some experience, I thought it was a terrific idea. Combining my love for writing, organizing and social media, a blog was born! Ohana Reads was created on January 3rd, 2014.

Heyyy! I'm Stephanie Ehmann. I am a book nerd in high school and I adore books. Being a book nerd, I always have a book with me. And when I have a moment, I am always reading.
 One day I would like to be work in the book publishing industry, preferably in cover design.

   Here are some random facts about me:

~ I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba. (It's in Canada)

~ When I'm not adoring books, I'm obsessing over Disney. Stitch, from Lilo and Stitch, is my all time favourite Disney character<3 I'm soo over my head in love with him that I even own a Stitch onesie, which is also why my blog is called Ohana Reads;) Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast are also some of my favourites.

~ My favourite series include: The Infernal Devices, Night World, The Tiger's Saga, The Revenants, The Selection, Lunar Chronicles, The Iron Fey, The White Rabbit Chronicles, Shadow Falls, The Aquarathi, The Arcana Chronicles, The Paper Gods, The Dark Elements, Blood of Eden, A Court of Thorns and Roses series and The Secret Diamond Sisters. Yes, I know that's a lot of series. I love a ton more books, but I just adore these. Does that make sense?

~ Did you know that my name is in two books? My name can be found in the acknowledgements of Diamonds in the Rough by Michelle Madow and my blog name can be found on the blogger page of the paperback of Cress by Marissa Meyer!

~ I have a little white fluff named Jimmy. He is a Bichon Frise/ Maltese. He turned 5 years old in January 2015. He's my baby boy.

~ My all time favourite drink is a Slurpee. Did you know that Winnipeg, Manitoba is the Slurpee capital of the world? We've been the capital for 13 years now.

~I love to watch TV shows with my family and curl up with a mug of hot chocolate. Some of our favourites are Once Upon a Time, Grimm, The Walking Dead and Grey's Anatomy. When I'm not watching with my family, I LOVE to watch Teen Wolf (Stiles is my spirit animal), The Flash, Arrow and Supernatural. Yes I know I watch a lot of TV. *sigh*

~ Before I became a blogger, I entered a contest to be apart of Amy Plum's If I Should Die Book trailer and actually ended up winning! You can see a picture of me in the book trailer here!

~ In November 2014, I went to South Carolina to attend YALLFest. Being from Canada it was a longer journey, but boy was it worth it! I got to meet many of my favourite authors including Jennifer L. Armentrout and Kiera Cass along with a bunch of others!. I had the time of my life.

~ For most of my social media sites I personally take the photos. I enjoy photography, editing the photos is another thing that I enjoy to do as well. It just makes them personal and shows the beauty the photographer/ I saw in the shot.

~ You can find my photography blog with the pictures I've taken, and the stuff I've designed here. Note, It's only going to be pictures and not much else.

~ In September 2013, I got to meet an author for the very first time ever.  And my goodness was it AMAZING! I got to meet Kelley Armstrong. She's the New York Times Bestselling Author of The Darkness Powers, The Darkness Rising, Woman of the Otherworld and finally her new series Cainsville. The first book Omens was first published in August 20th 2013.
